My Two Cents
By Gary Knox

One of the most critical windows is fast approaching for high school
graduating seniors, heading to college this fall.
The transition into college is NOT easy. This summer athletes should
take time to unwind, to reflect, to review, to recharge and prepare to
start anew. Ballers should enjoy these few short months but not
squander them.
Athletes should utilize their time wisely. They should do any class review
necessary to succeed. Ballers should also work on their court weaknesses.
Maintaining a healthy diet and staying physically fit are a must.
Ballers should fine tune their game BEFORE they step on campus. Most
college coaches will give incoming freshman workout routines to help
prepare them for the next level. But, athletes should also develop a custom
fitness plan of their own and stick to it. Doing this will help ensure a
smoother transition to college basketball.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression on your
new college teammates and coaches. So, make sure you’re ready!
Finally, a good conditioning drill is to run the
3-Man-Weave at an intense college pace with other elite ballers.
Or, run other drills that make you sprint, cut, catch, pass and finish!
That’s my two cents.
