Champlin Park at Maple Grove

Northwest Suburban Conference rivals Maple Grove Crimson and Champlin Park Rebels faced off in what would become a big statement game for the Crimson Tuesday, January 21st.  
In the early going, Maple Grove's Kaela Jones was feeling it, scoring 15 points and helping the Crimson to a double-
digit lead midway through the first half. Jones finished the game with 25 points to lead all scorers. Midway through the 1st half, Alexis Alexander went into takeover mode for Champlin Park, connecting on three pull-up jumpers, including a buzzer beater to close the first half. Maple Grove led 37-32. Alexander was spectacular with her ability to create and score. She finished with a team high 22 points en route to her 1,000 career points. With the score tied at 56, 5'4" junior guard Haylee Barker came up big for Maple Grove. In the final 30 seconds, Barker had a beautiful assist to Mary Eckberg, who hit a clutch 3-pointer that proved to be the game winner. Later, Barker hit two free throws to put the game on ice. Barker finished with 2 points, but her clutch play and flawless floor game earned  her a spot on the gPrep Standout list.
