Minnetonka took control after being down 2-11 to win 53-39

A big statement game between Lake Conference rivals Minnetonka (12-2) & Edina (10-5). Edina is led by Jill Morton's 17ppg. Tonka is led by Courtney Fredrickson with 20ppg. In the early going, Edina led 11-2. But Minnetonka was able to chip away and took the lead to close the first half, 29-25. Caroline Shelquist hit a huge 3 ball to end the half. Somehow Shelquist was able to get off & hit a 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds on the clock. Basically you can't leave her (Caroline Shelquist) open. Her shot is lethal and her release is quick, high and smooth. Every time she shoots from beyond the arc, it looks good. Final, Minnetonka 53, Edina 39: Tonka improves to 1-0 in the Lake Conference. Courtney Fredrickson led Tonka 17 points, Anne Hamilton & Caroline Shelquist added 11 points each. Edina's Jill Morton scored 15 points, Jaime Schnell had 10 points, Annika Jank 10 points. Freshman Jank has a chance to be star at Edina.
