Centennial’s Nipe Verbals with George Washington

"I can’t wait to get there.”

Centennial High School Superstar Megan Nipe has committed to George Washington University in Washington, DC. The 6’1” forward is ranked third among gPrep’s Top 40, 2009 Elite Players.

Nipe is one of Minnesota’s most heavily recruited ballers. Her mid-range game is second to none. Nipe's 3-point shot is effortless from NBA range. The Centennial Cougar’s size, speed and athleticism allow her to knock down contested shots. Nipe is also capable of taking players off the bounce. Her keen court IQ is matched by her classroom academics. Nipe maintains a 3.95 GPA, while balancing basketball and the books.

Nipe also has one of the hottest ballers’ workout videos and blogs featured on gPrep. In Nipe’s newest blog, she describes her official visit to George Washington and what led to her final decision. “I fell in love with everything about the school, environment, team, coaches, etc… I can’t wait to get there,” writes Nipe.

Nipe and her AAU team, NC Heat, won six consecutive state championships. Nipe was also named to the 2008 All-gPrep 1st Team, St. Paul Pioneer Press 1st Team All State and the Minneapolis Star Tribune 1st Team All Metro, among other honors. George Washington University’s Women’s Basketball team competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Tennessee and Rutgers are also on the schedule. The Centennial Cougar should have no problem transitioning into a Colonial next fall.
